Ambell i enw, ambell i gân,
ambell i ffag sydd yn chwilio am dân,
ambell i gysgod yn llygad hen ffrind,
ambell un dw i’m di’i charu tan ei bod hi ’di mynd.
Ambell belydryn sy’n boeth ar fy ngwar,
ambell un o’r hen wynebau yn y drych uwchben y bar.
Ambell i bnawn mewn maes parcio gwag
efo merch o Frynrefail sydd am ddianc i Prâg.
Ambell i foi yn y gornel ei hun
sydd yn yfed i iechyd bob bore dydd Llun.
Tra bydd y rhain, mi fydda’ i’n slaf
i bob un o’r gwenoliaid rhwng rŵan a’r haf.
A few names, a few songs,
a few fags that are looking for a flame,
a few shadows in the eyes of an old friend,
a few that I haven’t loved until they have gone.
A few sunrays that are hot on the back of my neck,
a few of the old faces in the mirror above the bar.
A few afternoons in empty carparks
with a girl from Brynrefail that’s escaping to Prague
A few old lads in the corner by themselves
who drink to health every Monday morning.
Whilst these things are there, I will be a slave
to every swallow between now and Summer.
