Da Gennyf Air O Ganu / I Enjoy A Little Singing
Cerddoriaeth / Music - GBRh

Da gennyf air o ganu,

da gennyf ysgafn gysgu,

da gennyf fynd a’m llances fwyn

i gwr y llwyn i garu

Petawn i ond yn gwybod

bod dŵr yn golchi pechod

mi awn i’r afon pan fo’n lli

a molchi am dri diwrnod

Tri pheth sy’n anodd nabod,

dyn, derwen a diwyrnod;

y dydd yn troi, y pren yn gou

a’r dyn yn ddau wynebog

Mae diod fain yn burion,

mae cwrw’n hyfryd ddigon

ond nid oes dim dyrr syched gwr

mor ffein a dŵr o’r ffynnon

I enjoy a bit of singing,

I enjoy sleeping lightly,

I enjoy courting my gentle lass

beside the bushes

If I only knew

that water washes away sins

I’d go into the river when there’s a torrent

and wash for three whole days

Three things are hard to know,

a man, an oak and a day.

The day turns, the wood is closed

and the man is two faced

Hard drink is very nice,

beer is oh so lovely,

but nothing quenches a man’s thirst

quite as fine as water from the well
