Can o Fawl i'r Cwrw / A Song of Praise for the Beer
Alaw & Geiriau / Melody & Words - GBRh

Ma ‘ngwddw fel rhisgil ‘lly tapiwch y faril

Gollyngwch yn rhugl i’r ‘ogyn gal peint

Ma’r ddiod aur-felyn, y moddion dan ewyn

Â’r rhinwedd i leddfu pob syched a haint,

Ei flas sydd yn felys wrth ‘lychu fy ngwefus

A ‘hogla yr hopys a’r barlys mor braf

‘Lly llenwch ‘y ngwydrad i’r ‘ogyn gal llyma’d

A molwn ddyfodiad y gwanwyn a’r haf.

My throat is like bark so tap the barrel

And release it freely so that this son can have a pint

This golden-yellow drink, this medicine beneath froth

Has the quality to ease all thirstiness and weaknesses

It’s taste is sweet when it wet’s my lips

And the smell of the hops and barley is so lovely

So fill up my glass so this lad can have a tipple

And Let’s praise the coming of spring and summer
